WELCOME to my Website

Back in 2008, while clearing the attic, I came across information from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s which brought back some great memories from my days in local football. This lead me to develop my football memories website which I thought initially only my family and close friends would ever want to look at. But to my total surprise I’ve had an amazing response from people from all over the world who have links with the North East of England and in particular the Wearside area.

With this obvious interest in teams, players and personalities from all our local leagues here in the north east, it set me thinking. A large part of the interest is the team photo’s and I’m sure there must be lots of these gathering dust in the homes of many families. No one gets to look at these and yet they, in my opinion, would be of interest to many people. So the idea of this website is simply to build up a library of team photos and make them available for viewing to everyone. I am sure they will bring back great memories, from the ’good old days’, for many people.

Where the names of team members have been forgotten, miss-spelt or simply the wrong person then hopefully someone will contact me and put the record straight.

Initially to see how it goes only senior teams (over 18’s) from the NE of England will be shown. So if you have any suitable photos please contact me and, as not everyone can send attachments, between us we will arrange for the most convenient way to get them to/from me. Information required would be team name, players names, league and season as well as any successes they might have had in that season.
